You must try this Easy Idli Dahi Platter recipe not because I say so but because this is simply delicious and can be served for breakfast or as a snack.
Idli is undisputedly one of the healthiest breakfast food, not only in south India but world over.
Why? because they are steamed, easy to digest, fermented to get the good bacteria or gut-friendly bacteria.
Typical and traditional accompaniments or side dishes served with idlis are sambar, coconut chutney, milagapodi.
Try this version of idlis with curd for a change.
Last week made this Idli recipe with dahi/curd. Used mini idlis, but if you do not have the moulds, use in the regular idli plates and then cut each idli into four pieces.
My idlis were super soft so i directly without frying. Alternately you may fry the idlis.
Many years back I had sent a recipe for a contest in Savvy magazine where i had marinated the idlis in spices and then fried them before adding the curd and spice powders. I won the best recipe prize for it.
Preferably the curd must be fresh and not too sour. The idlis soak up the curd quick, so whisk up more curd to use if needed.
