One of the numerous varieties of sauces in Italian cuisine is the Alfredo or the basic white sauce or Bechamel sauce.
Boiled potato cubes tossed in this white sauce is amazingly tasty.
Inspired by Jamie Oliver’s recipe on a television show. He boils pasta and the potatoes along with garlic to infuse the flavor. Use of garlic is optional – for those who do not like or eat garlic may skip this.
Finely chopped onion and carrot is sauteed and added to the white sauce to give a burst of taste and color.
The white sauce is prepared with roux and milk. With the choice of vegetables and spices and herbs added to it, it serves as a perfect dipping sauce.
The potato in creamy white sauce can be served as a snack or as a side dish along with a pasta.
