Dhoklas are a popular snack or breakfast food of Gujarat. There are many varieties of dhoklas made from different lentils or flour.
Growing up in Mumbai, I got to taste these nutritious, protein-packed dishes from my Gujarati neighbors and friends.
The traditional dhoklas are made from channa dal or urad dal, or chickpea flour (besan).
This particular dhokla recipe I learnt from my grand-aunt (who was a mother to me).
