Vegetable Broken Wheat Bhaath is a one-pot dish with plenty of vegetables, spinach cooked with broken wheat or cracked wheat instead of rice. Can be eaten for breakfast or lunch or dinner along with pickle and raita.
Coarsely ground whole wheat or dalia is nutritious and is used in variety of dishes like upma, porridge, kheer, halwa. Dalia biryani and dalia pulao is also other ways to include this grain.
There are various sizes of broken wheat available in the store. The one used here is of a fairly bigger size and hence suitable for replacing in dishes where rice is used. The medium variety of broken wheat is generally used to prepare upma and kheer. The very fine ones are used for porridge or halwa or sheera.
