Carameized Tofu with Sauteed Vegetables is a protein-rich dish made of tofu that is derived from soy bean. Tofu was first originated in China thousands of years ago, only some 50 years back this bean curd spread to other countries.
Similar to the Indian cottage cheese but slightly firmer with very high calcium content.
Tomorrow is Chinese food for lunch, what side dish must I whip up….thinking of various food and suddenly my mind decides. Tofu. Next I find myself checking out on Big Basket mobile app.
To buy tofu or buy fresh vegetables I usually go to Big Basket, the online grocery store. For this recipe post I also needed to buy dark soy sauce and corn flour, both of which I got it from there too.
To get a caramelized coating I used brown sugar in the sauce, honey can also be used instead of brown sugar.
I read many, many recipes on the internet and finally decided to make this version of tofu with sauteed vegetables.
When the cooking was over, it was photograph time and then we all just stuck the forks into it and the plate was empty in no time. Simply delicious! Try it sometime.
