Don’t we Indians just love desserts! Blame the festivals after gorging on the sweets and snacks that are part and parcel of the myriad festivals that we celebrate. Rakshabandhan, Janmashtami just got over and we are now celebrating Navratri and Diwali is not far away.
A simple payasam or kheer made with vermicelli and milk is a great festival dish. Very commonly prepared in south India not only for festivals but also on special occasions.
